Following a 2016 season in which more winners than ever stepped up to the podium, the expectation was that 2017 was all set to be the closest and most unpredictable season ever. Despite a win for the reigning champions in the opening event in Ireland, what unfolded during the next five stops was nothing short of thrilling. The men’s lead changed hands on four occasions before the King Kahekili trophy was eventually awarded to Jonathan Paredes with Blake Aldridge also finishing 3rd overall in the 2017 series.
