Blake’s Olympic Experience with Stroud Primary School

Blake Aldridge took time out of his busy training schedule to lend a hand to Stroud Primary Schools Olympic Experience Day.

Glenn from the School had this to say;

Dear Blake and Lindsay,

Thank you both so much for a truly inspirational and motivational day.  The Olympic event was made far more special and interesting with you there.  Parents, teachers and staff all made comment about how involved and friendly you both were.

This was a big event with over 500 people in total including 400 pupils, 40 Thomas Keble helpers, 20 Stroud College students and a huge amount of staff, TA’s and other adults making this a massive Olympic Games!  The whole idea was to inspire and enthuse the pupils to get involved with and enjoy sport.  Your energy and help certainly enabled them to achieve this and we would like to ensure Athlete’s Direct and your management organisations are aware of how grateful we are.

I will send you both a copy of the local press report that will be completed soon and I have also attached some photos for you to use for your profiles.

Thanks once again,

Glenn”

The day was a great success and many children were inspired after taking part in several olympic themed games. Blake closed with the following statement.

“I was glad to be a part of this fantastic day, where I could interact with the children and inspire them to really try harder in all the sports that they were taking part in. It seems that our presence alone at these types of events really makes a difference in the effort the children put it to every part of each activity. What a great way to get children involved in sports and to meet other children and work with them in teams, this is where the dream all starts and I hope we will see some of the children follow in our footsteps.”
